LANAP® (Laser-Assisted New Attachment Procedure) is a patented laser gum treatment for periodontal disease. When you receive LANAP therapy, our periodontists and team use a soft tissue laser to eliminate diseased tissue and bacteria in your mouth. We then remove calculus and plaque from the tooth roots to eliminate the source of harmful bacteria, after which the laser finishes sterilizing and cleaning the periodontal pocket. The connective gum tissue is then placed back over the area to begin the healing process.
